CHRONICLE OF FORMER PRESIDENT ALVARO URIBE VELEZ

Álvaro Uribe Vélez was born in Medellín Colombia, on July 41952, by profession a
lawyer, businessman and politician.
Uribe is a lawyer from the University of Antioquia and studied administration,
management and conflict negotiation at the Harvard University Extension School;
and is an Associate Senior Fellow of St Antony's College, University of Oxford.
Was working, he held different positions in the Public Companies of Medellín, the
Ministry of Labor and Civil Aeronautics. He was mayor of Medellín (1982), senator
of the Republic (1986-1994) and governor of Antioquia (1995-1997), being elected
president of the Republic of Colombia in 2002 and re-elected in 2006.
